The Box
Two men, one small room, 14 spliffs, 29 cups of tea. This is essentially the ‘box’ experience. If it were a fairground ride it would probably be condemned as unsafe. A not-for-profit organization, it achieves what it aims to do. Tom and Ken, hombre’s supremo, work through the nite to bring you original sounds fuelled by cheap drugs and motivated by the need to explore. They hunker down, with no thought for themselves (or others) in the search for that special tune, that wondrous guitar lick, that all encompassing lyric. Not the song that will keep them in adult nappies in their twilight years but one that will keep their hearts soft and their minds somewhere else. Like two men looking for that special woman, it’s only a matter of time before the induced chemicals abandon you and you’re left with something you don’t quite know what to do with.
